“Do not attach a truth with a name. Truth is truth, regardless of who says it.”

This is a statement I heard today, and it makes sense in most cases. However, I feel it is somewhat vague, considering how much it sounds like one of the quotes I’d hear in philosophy class. There’s a reason I swore off ever taking another one of those classes!

Any thoughts on the quote? I’d love to see what people make this out to be. 🙂

  • Why did you swear off taking another philosophy course?

  • because, constantly trying to figure out how p equals q when r is q but isnt p. make sense? thought so.

  • Its a shame that you feel this way about philosophy. Philosophy actually has much more to offer than just that, I feel that you are oversimplifing it. Taking a philosophy class actually made me a more thoughtful person. I believe that Islam is a faith of intellect, and as part of being muslim, we should always be on the quest for knowledge. I wouldn't write off philosophy completely because of one course, you would be missing out on a lot!
