Gorgeous.
That’s how she’s seen,
As a depiction of beauty.
But I wonder at times,
If that vision,
Is purely physical.
To be an intellectual,
Speaking to each other as equals,
Is easy in most scenarios.
But when I think to how your words would leave,
Your mouth like discarded thoughts of past…
Regret and disappointment exist,
In myself letting things last
As long as they did.
Soulful.
I wish I could say this matched her description.
But truth be told,
That’s what holds me back from affection.
When looking into your eyes,
All I see is lies.
Within yourself,
You have walked past all reason,
And embraced all that makes you displeasing.
There appear to be walking mannequins,
Strolling through your mind,
Walking into positions,
That develop you into a mime.
Your physical encompasses your identity,
And without saying anything,
You have shown the world everything.
When you decide to speak
Your truth, and be human,
Let me know.
Maybe then,
I’ll consider a hoping chance with you.
But until then, please remain mute.
That way you can stop bothering me with your sad excuses.
I do love you,
That is without doubt.
Otherwise, I wouldn’t have married you.
But you left me with no other thought,
Than thinking that I’ve lost my love.
Your still here,
But I’m scared your soul’s left.
Please bring it back to me.
I feel I’ve lost half of me.
And now I need we back,
So our unified soul can get on track.

They say, “You’ll never make it;
Without the money,
Life as a poet is pointless.”
What about the movement?
In the souls of readers,
In the hearts of lovers,
In the minds of dreamers,
In the humanity of disbelievers?
It’s easy to see,
That life is filled with simplicity.
That is the essence of poetry:
A depiction of reality,
Placed perfectly,
So as to reflect the essence of beauty.
Does that means there’s an intertwine,
between Poetic and Beautiful minds?
Might they be the same?
Both so amazing to find,
Yet so rare to see combined?
Money? Well, it runs the world.
But it loses all value,
If it penetrates the soul.
I’m not saying I don’t wanna be a millionaire,
But not for myself, but for those who deserve a share.
A share at opportunity
And food to eat.
The world’s in need of assistance,
In need of people looking for justice,
in every heartbeat.
This is the epitomy of poetry:
Speaking out words,
Seeming simple,
But moving soul mountains,
In hopes that something will shift,
Becoming a way to bring back “happy”.
What worth is wealthy,
If u have no peace when you sleep?
If not making a difference,
Are you really using your existence,
To the best of your ability?
Ask yourself that,
But be warned:
There’s a chance, no matter your goodness,
You’ll find a small (seeming large) section of bitterness.
Think.
Elevate minds.
Travel through hearts.
Impact lives.
I choose to be your constant chosen presence.
A presence for which the option of departure is non-existent.
Only, however, in the eyes of the beholder,
For in his view, is only that which he is fond of.
The approach of a leave may become inevitable though,
If we choose the lesser of the options given to us by the Creator.
But how are we to be so sure,
That the choice we make is worth it to endure.
When we are placed in a position,
Where the rest of our lives is based on this decision.
I begin to think on any options for solution,
And find it difficult to find a resurrection,
Of some source of hope,
Definitive as a mountain-top, with a hardly steep slope.
I turn to the only source of any sign of anything;
To God, knowing that He can find the resolve for everything.
My connection to you, feels like a tightrope,
Unfortunate, dependant, for your next move decides my fate’s hope.
Though, strongly held to you, my love for God is stronger,
For my faith in Him ropes around me,
And as time progresses, the wrapping becomes tighter.
So much that it brings me perfect warmth and comfort,
Just enough though, ‘cause at no point would it suffocate my heart.
Now, to return to the question at hand:
Are we making the right choice if we choose to walk hand in hand?
Of course I’m speaking of marriage,
And not of friends of the same sorts.
Where people relate through means lacking importance,
Instead of where the contracts are signed,
With the greatest witness being the Divine.
In agreeing that separation is never an option,
For we will be choosing to stick together, through all of the obstructions.
A relationship in which the physical may remain,
Or nature may take over, making beauty refrain,
From the resistance of resisting a change.
Situations may occur,
To which we may never concur.
But sometimes, hurt is what makes a heart swell,
And through that it grows, helping us understand the better times well.
Happiness is based, on the grasp we have on life,
Sometimes we hold it tightly, sometimes we hold it light.
This massaging motion, brings out emotions,
We may never understand.
Where we may miss out on love, or fall into it,
Based on destiny, that’s just the nature of man.
All of these words are my word to you,
To reassure you that my faith in us holds truth.
But us, is relative to our faith in God,
For us can only become an us, if we leave it to God.
Sooner than later, we must come to a decision,
For later may become sooner, and we may miss our chances,
For a life together in Heaven.
Many others will come and go, to and from our doorsteps,
And I can say from mine and others’ experiences,
That we may miss other chances of Heaven,
If we don’t determine our next steps.
The future is predetermined, but undetermined by us,
But we’ve had more than enough time to contemplate about us.
So let’s take some time, and break apart our minds,
To think:
Do I dare take the chance of drowning,
Enough to trust,
That my Love will catch me before I sink?
He said that he loved her,
Was willing to give her
Himself, in every aspect.
She said that he lived and lied,
Cuz if he loved her as he claimed,
He wouldn’t have forgotten to show her respect.
The world claimed their love to be wrong,
Saying he was making mistakes,
And had forgotten all that made him strong.
They said she was playing him,
And that he’d be left with nothing.
But he trusted his love,
And he knew it wouldn’t just survive.
He was convinced it would thrive.
Months passed with patience,
And they grew closer than friends.
He said, “I want to take us serious,
But if you’re just having fun,
love me as you wish,
we won’t be unless you change.”
She said, “You gotta understand, I’m too young,
I want us to build that trust,
Before we take that plunge,
Into a life together forever.”
So much time had passed,
And they had become the best of friends.
He thought that maybe they were to take that step,
But her plans were elsewhere,
Saying that he had grown into a brother to her.
He said, “You broke my heart,
Ripped it out,
and shred it to pieces.
I never knew love would hurt like this,
I’ve just lost all trust in finding bliss
With you.”
She said, “You don’t understand,
I never knew this would happen.
I thought we’d be together too,
But I guess fate had other plans.”
Isn’t it plain to see?
Or is it just me?
That it’s clear to even heart’s that are blind,
She just looked him in the eyes,
And lied.
He was left broken,
And was robbed,
Of his very essence:
She took his heart.
What happens to a man,
When he sits back and thinks
About how he was living just fine,
Till she came in and made his life fantastic?
I thought time and time again,
That I’d wait to find that perfect one.
People told me she was non-existent,
But i knew, that if i truly believed, she would come.
Do you know the feeling,
That leaves you blinded,
And thinking that you’ve been jaded?
See, though she remains merely a thought,
I wonder sometimes what’s pulling me towards her.
She still does not have a face,
Nor does she have a name…
Then why?
Why am I so intrigued by someone that I’ve never met?
I haven’t seen her,
But I know she’s beautiful.
I haven’t spoken to her,
But I know her voice is my personal symphony.
I haven’t looked into her eyes,
But I know they are the one place I can never allow to bear tears.
She fulfills my fantasy.
Fantastic
She beautifies my reality.
See how I just lost my rhythm?
Who needs it, when her melody keeps me floating smoothly.
Where is she?
She is where.
She’s got me tongue twisted,
Lost in the words i search for,
Trying to find anything worthy of describing her.
Maybe I should just keep praying,
Cause though many girls have come,
I’m still waiting, striving,
And trusting that she will appear,
When I become worthy of her,
She becomes worthy of me,
And we make Perfect together.
One time, two time.
Third time a charm?
We’ve tried so many times,
But someone always ends up harmed.
It was clear that something just wasn’t working,
Gotta make some changes if we plan on surviving.
When we began, I was chasing after you,
Wanted to keep you close,
Just ’cause you meant that much.
But you chose to follow your career,
And thought I’d never help you achieve,
Happiness in reaching your dreams.
You told me to step aside,
In words that left me scarred.
Had you bruised me, I would’ve let it pass over,
But scarring me is something that’ll stay forever.
I walked away, knowing this:
You now hated me, so there was no chance at a second chance.
Then the next thing I knew, you began again,
Speaking as though nothing had ever happened.
It appeared as though you had felt for me again,
So I continued with, “Everyone deserves a second chance.”
As time progressed, I began to fall for you
Once again, after I fought so hard to get over you.
Learned you had been speaking to other men,
And that then broke me apart once again.
So, I decided my only way was to cut loose,
Broken, I knew I wouldn’t regret this.
Finally, I got release,
And it truly was a feeling a bliss.
Now your trying to talk again,
But I don’t understand why you don’t understand…
We ended after the second time,
So accept it, you’ll never be mine.
I can’t help it, I need to say this:
You are the definition of my dreams.
I know years have passed
since we last saw each other,
But you’ve stayed in my heart,
Left as a thought keeping me together.
Two years ago, we signed the contract,
And as God is my witness, we are husband and wife.
Life got in the way and stopped us from living together,
And we couldn’t announce our happiness to the ones we love.
My every day is spent facing a mirror,
Hoping you’d come stand behind me and smile,
And tell me, “Let’s start painting a portrait of our future together.”
I know we speak on the regular,
But it doesn’t amount to holding my lover.
I continue to work hard,
To bring in what we need,
To be able to stay together,
Making each other happy with every word we breathe.
Today, I’m returning to my love,
To show her what I’ve achieved for her.
I struggled, and asked the One above,
And He’s blessed us with what we desire.
Pleasing God, and loving you for His sake are my reasons for living,
And now with you both my side,
I wouldn’t mind living forever.
“I’m strong, I’m not falling,
I’m together, I’m not wanting.”
These are the words she said to me.
She had spent so much of her life,
Building up her image,
And becoming amongst the best.
Little did she know,
That through that time,
She built herself,
Out of who she really was.
What happened to the cute, innocent one?
What happened to the girl that knew how to love?
She’s been hiding behind this so-called woman,
Who thinks she’s better off without love.
She was hurt once, and called off
Every chance that came after that.
She thought that for her to be whole,
She had to make sure that love would never grow.
Putting up that front of stability,
She ended up losing the beauty of vulnerability.
Lost her ability to be real,
Cause now, she was no more than machinery.
Living life like it’s meant for proving herself,
But the sad part is, she’s trying so hard that she’s losing herself.
How can I get it across to her,
That she’s beautiful in her purity?
That, when she remains true to herself,
She in fact, reflects the essence of sublimity?
It is very clear that she knows this to be true,
But perhaps, her ambition has thrown her reality off queue.
And now, to me, it is clear…
That she will never be able to stay true to what she truly holds dear.
