Poem: And She Laughed

Poem: And She Laughed 1950 1300 Nadir Keval

Often times, I wonder
what beauty lies behind her smile.
It must be from beyond my pastures
to know what grows when her soul desires.
I look beyond my own flaws,
to see what truly matters.
I look at her, in awe of what I saw,
because her heart leaves all she touches inspired.

At times, I show my self,
a man imperfectly human.
I be myself and trust that she
would embrace me as I am.
Perhaps the most sincere of things
is when she looks at me and smiles.
And when that smiles lifts the edges of her mouth,
bringing a genuine glow to her face,
I hear the most encompassing of sounds,
as she softly laughs from her heart.

And that is what I seek.
A love to give and a love received.
Where come rain or shine,
be the act hers or mine,
laughter would unconditionally sprout
from a lifetime of shared and embraced smiles.

Poem: Struck By An Arrow

Poem: Struck By An Arrow 960 854 Nadir Keval

There is that simple moment,
When a man sees the woman he fancies,
Open her eyes with a smile in her heart,
Hoping she is thinking of him.

She turns a light pink,
As the tips of her lips
Reach for the skies,
And her smile makes the moonlight
Seem like it’s shine isn’t too bright.

This is the dream I hold deep in my heart,
To have as my truth and my fantasy.
She is like an arrow through my heart,
Except unlike cupid,
She’s a dream turned reality.

I do pray that one day,
I could show her my all,
And let her see that my words,
Are my lesser quality,
As my actions will prove,
That I will always try
my best to be worthy
Of her
And her family.

God-willing, one day,
We will find our way,
And our families will love
Each other as though
they were part of each others’ destiny.

I will pray and pray,
And ask Him to guide us.
So we can see
If we should be
Each others’ passports
To a Heavenly Eternity.

Poem: Unmet Dream

Poem: Unmet Dream 1600 1145 Nadir Keval

I miss her
I don’t know why.
I don’t know how.
I just miss her.

I’ve dreamt of our wedding day.
I’ve had nightmares that she was taken from me.
I’ve imagined taking her out,
romancing her,
loving her,
watching her smile.
I’ve imagined us having disagreements,
and trying to find a solution,
only to find that the only way that made sense,
was living and loving,
to make each other happy.

I’ve spent my entire life preparing to be hers.
I’ve felt the serenity of wrapping my arms around her.
One hand between her shoulders,
holding her close to me,
One hand on the small of her back,
reminding her that I will always support her.

I’ve lived a life fulfilling my dreams,
but she is one dream I need
to step out of my thoughts,
and become my reality.
I do miss her, this is true,
but the bittersweet truth is,
I still have yet to meet her.

Poem: Daydreaming

Poem: Daydreaming 1398 1184 Nadir Keval

This has been a journey,
like none I’ve ever faced before.
Yet, all this time I didn’t know,
that every moment was a new opportunity.

I spent so many years searching,
trying to find my purpose.
But, never did I see
that I have flourished,
even when it seemed like I had perished.

Life put me through its seasons,
breaking me down,
and bringing me up again.
Every moment,
every challenge,
given to me to live out my dreams.

I’ve been living a dream,
a blessing if I’ve ever seen one.
But, like with every dream,
we crisscross between reality and fantasy.

My life has been a constant battle,
fighting the expected
against the desired.
The challenge to be a dreamer,
trying to be stable,
flowing in balance with the winds of freedom,
is far more than any journey.
It’s an adventure
filled with misdemeanors,
as everyone expects you to stick to reality.

My purpose was found in those ruins,
the grounds of life painted
with the death of norms and expectations.
I have learned that to live out my dreams,
I must embrace the crossing paths,
of fantasies and reality.
Only then will I find my way
paving my path,
brick by brick,
painting it with what I have earned,
happiness, confidence,
and my daydream turned reality.

Poem: Eternal Effort

Poem: Eternal Effort 1024 819 Nadir Keval

To be honest,
I thank Allah every day
and wonder how a woman as stunning as her could love me.
Still, I am thankful.
Thankful for Allah placing a love for her in my heart,
because this love makes me want to be more grateful,
and better overall,
as a Muslim and a man,
just to try to make it up to Allah for placing her in my heart.

If she were to stop loving me, I would still be thankful…
If she were to forget me, I would still be thankful…
If she were to leave me, I would still be thankful…
only because having the chance to have spent
even one moment in her heart
is enough to keep me happy in this life and the Next.

But, I believe, without a doubt,
that my fate will be better,
as I mention her in every prayer,
pray for her,
and for her.
I ask that Allah gives me two lifetimes with her,
because this life would not be enough,
but an eternal Hereafter in Jannah will do,
as enough time for me to show Him my gratitude
for her and all that she has brought and will bring.

I await patiently for the arrival
to the answer to my prayers,
so that I may be forever grateful.
Her return will be a gift from Him,
my very own miracle,
when she no longer remains only in my every dream and every thought,
but becomes the wife I’ve wanted for so long, to love and to hold.
