Poem: Break Free

Poem: Break Free 3872 2592 Nadir Keval
Let’s take a moment and breathe,
to try to search out and find the route of ease.
‘Cause through all the hardships,
we’ll only make it if we open our eyes and see,
that the tips of our lips will only peak,
when we break down the hateful barriers and set our souls free!

Poem: Beauty, Be Mine

Poem: Beauty, Be Mine 960 854 Nadir Keval

I’ve been searching,
A long time wanting,
For someone to come my way,
brightening my day.
I looked around me,
Thinking that there’s gotta be,
A woman wanting to be found,
By the man who could see,
That every ounce of beauty in her is unique.
I saw you, and you stood out,
Your image itself showed me what true beauty was about.
I could hear you yelling out my name,
Not through your lips,
But by how you made my heart believe you had it claimed.
I saw you all the time,
But never did it cross my mind,
That I could ever want you,
To be more than just an acquaintance of mine.
Slowly, your every attribute had me,
You’re more perfect than anyone could be.
Through all this time, how didn’t I see,
That you’re the one girl I’d always need.
We’ve been blessed with everything possible,
We’re compatible, mature and responsible.
Now, all we gotta do is,
Wait it out, ‘cause,
We got goals in life,
Trying to live out what we love.
I get that baby,
But I want you to know,
That I want you as my lady,
As the one I’ll never want to let go.
I hope you feel the same,
But I’ma leave it to God,
‘cause only He knows where our hearts will remain.
I see that there’s no beauty like yours,
‘cause everytime I look at you, time takes a pause.
I want you to be that light in my life,
To be that warmth,
Like the Prophet got from his wives.
God’s created you so perfectly,
Probably as my life’s definition of beauty.
But He’s also given you my favourite type of soul,
Like Khadijah to the Rasul,
I want you to be my world.

Poem: She was

Poem: She was 1600 1424 Nadir Keval

We met on a day that cannot be described,
Because I cannot remember the weather of that day.
Why? Well, I was enveloped in her eyes,
As though her every blink was a new sunrise,
Not too overwhelming, nor too dull.
She was refreshing in her presence alone.
A hidden waterfall, in the driest of deserts.
I asked her name,
And she muttered words that reminded me of dreams I’d dreamt.
But never before had I met her.
So, where had I seen her?
Time passed, and I felt a closeness to her soul,
Despite the fact that we hadn’t been in touch for so long.
The mere thought of her had me urging
To find the courage to speak to her again.
I walked towards her, with my head lowered,
But my chest held out with courage,
And that deep breath I’d taken,
To not need to gasp while speaking to her.
See, I had realized from the past,
That for some reason…she was the only one
that made me weak in my knees,
that made me stutter in my speech;
a man full of stature turned into a statue.
So, I asked,
Did you know that when you speak,
It’s as though your voice is too melodious for your mouth to hold?
Did you know that you in your entirety
are an entity reflective of the highest forms of beauty?
I promise you that,
I will rip through the clouds to find the sun,
And give it to you as a dowry.
I will take the constellations,
And use them to provide you with never-ending nourishment.
I will spend the nights, counting the stars,
To add them to the equation
I try to develop to understand how God made you.
Did you know that you stretch the abilities of mathematics?
See, you have me tongue-twisted,
With words of love dripping off my lips.
I ask you to be my diamond,
The one to be my new moon,
As I see you, the light I seek in this world of darkness.
I’ve been told that men and women have been created as cloaks of one another.
I would be pleased to cover you.
So…may I please, cover you?

Poem: Deafening Silence

Poem: Deafening Silence 1024 819 Nadir Keval

Deep thought has become my identity,
Grateful to God for giving me the opportunity,
To speak out words, so absurd to some,
But to others seeming inspirational.
For words like these, I must be more than thankful,
Not because I think they are special,
But rather, because they move me before they move anyone else.
The greatest form of gratitude I can find,
Is the silence, I place on my lips,
As I smile like an idiot, in my mind.
A silence so important,
That a pin wouldn’t even dream to drop.
Sounding as though a pin can dream,
But then again,
My dreams do pin me,
Into a world of thoughts so unheard of, but sound.
At times, my mind thinks of things that even I can’t understand,
And as I stand up, under the skies,
Hoping for some revelation,
Or some inspiration to flood my eyes…
I stop. Dead in my tracks,
Of thoughts, as I plunge into affinity with myself,
Or is that who I plan to be?
I don’t know, because that man seems like it, but he’s not me.
Then, I began to feel it,
A feeling so finite,
Yet incomplete.
That I am to be that man,
Who one day will stand,
Amongst millions, and be alone,
As a thinker of differences,
And a different thinker.
One, who he himself will adore,
One, who will always feel plastered to the floor.
As though, he will never rise,
Unless given a hand to stand,
Instead of continuing to receive feet as he is stepped on.
People will see him,
And see a revolutionary,
Not due to his actions, but due to his dreams.
He will fight for justice, in hopes that people will once again dream,
As they had been sentenced to a life of lifelessness,
A life without imagination it seems.
But this man, so alone, yet always accompanied,
Will stand with his Love in his heart,
Knowing that, let the world come to a sudden halt,
He will remain standing,
As the last free heart with a will to never stop.
