Poem: Devalued Priceless

Poem: Devalued Priceless 1168 1168 Nadir Keval

They say, “You’ll never make it;
Without the money,
Life as a poet is pointless.”
What about the movement?
In the souls of readers,
In the hearts of lovers,
In the minds of dreamers,
In the humanity of disbelievers?
It’s easy to see,
That life is filled with simplicity.
That is the essence of poetry:
A depiction of reality,
Placed perfectly,
So as to reflect the essence of beauty.
Does that means there’s an intertwine,
between Poetic and Beautiful minds?
Might they be the same?
Both so amazing to find,
Yet so rare to see combined?
Money? Well, it runs the world.
But it loses all value,
If it penetrates the soul.
I’m not saying I don’t wanna be a millionaire,
But not for myself, but for those who deserve a share.
A share at opportunity
And food to eat.
The world’s in need of assistance,
In need of people looking for justice,
in every heartbeat.
This is the epitomy of poetry:
Speaking out words,
Seeming simple,
But moving soul mountains,
In hopes that something will shift,
Becoming a way to bring back “happy”.
What worth is wealthy,
If u have no peace when you sleep?
If not making a difference,
Are you really using your existence,
To the best of your ability?
Ask yourself that,
But be warned:
There’s a chance, no matter your goodness,
You’ll find a small (seeming large) section of bitterness.
Think.
Elevate minds.
Travel through hearts.
Impact lives.

Poem: He said, She said

Poem: He said, She said 1280 800 Nadir Keval

He said that he loved her,
Was willing to give her
Himself, in every aspect.
She said that he lived and lied,
Cuz if he loved her as he claimed,
He wouldn’t have forgotten to show her respect.

The world claimed their love to be wrong,
Saying he was making mistakes,
And had forgotten all that made him strong.
They said she was playing him,
And that he’d be left with nothing.
But he trusted his love,
And he knew it wouldn’t just survive.
He was convinced it would thrive.

Months passed with patience,
And they grew closer than friends.
He said, “I want to take us serious,
But if you’re just having fun,
love me as you wish,
we won’t be unless you change.”
She said, “You gotta understand, I’m too young,
I want us to build that trust,
Before we take that plunge,
Into a life together forever.”

So much time had passed,
And they had become the best of friends.
He thought that maybe they were to take that step,
But her plans were elsewhere,
Saying that he had grown into a brother to her.

He said, “You broke my heart,
Ripped it out,
and shred it to pieces.
I never knew love would hurt like this,
I’ve just lost all trust in finding bliss
With you.”
She said, “You don’t understand,
I never knew this would happen.
I thought we’d be together too,
But I guess fate had other plans.”

Isn’t it plain to see?
Or is it just me?
That it’s clear to even heart’s that are blind,
She just looked him in the eyes,
And lied.
He was left broken,
And was robbed,
Of his very essence:
She took his heart.

Poem: Fantastic

Poem: Fantastic 1218 714 Nadir Keval

What happens to a man,
When he sits back and thinks
About how he was living just fine,
Till she came in and made his life fantastic?
I thought time and time again,
That I’d wait to find that perfect one.
People told me she was non-existent,
But i knew, that if i truly believed, she would come.

Do you know the feeling,
That leaves you blinded,
And thinking that you’ve been jaded?
See, though she remains merely a thought,
I wonder sometimes what’s pulling me towards her.
She still does not have a face,
Nor does she have a name…
Then why?
Why am I so intrigued by someone that I’ve never met?

I haven’t seen her,
But I know she’s beautiful.
I haven’t spoken to her,
But I know her voice is my personal symphony.
I haven’t looked into her eyes,
But I know they are the one place I can never allow to bear tears.
She fulfills my fantasy.
Fantastic
She beautifies my reality.
See how I just lost my rhythm?
Who needs it, when her melody keeps me floating smoothly.

Where is she?
She is where.
She’s got me tongue twisted,
Lost in the words i search for,
Trying to find anything worthy of describing her.
Maybe I should just keep praying,
Cause though many girls have come,
I’m still waiting, striving,
And trusting that she will appear,
When I become worthy of her,
She becomes worthy of me,
And we make Perfect together.

Poem: Tried and Tested

Poem: Tried and Tested 2083 1606 Nadir Keval

One time, two time.
Third time a charm?
We’ve tried so many times,
But someone always ends up harmed.
It was clear that something just wasn’t working,
Gotta make some changes if we plan on surviving.

When we began, I was chasing after you,
Wanted to keep you close,
Just ’cause you meant that much.
But you chose to follow your career,
And thought I’d never help you achieve,
Happiness in reaching your dreams.
You told me to step aside,
In words that left me scarred.
Had you bruised me, I would’ve let it pass over,
But scarring me is something that’ll stay forever.

I walked away, knowing this:
You now hated me, so there was no chance at a second chance.
Then the next thing I knew, you began again,
Speaking as though nothing had ever happened.
It appeared as though you had felt for me again,
So I continued with, “Everyone deserves a second chance.”

As time progressed, I began to fall for you
Once again, after I fought so hard to get over you.
Learned you had been speaking to other men,
And that then broke me apart once again.
So, I decided my only way was to cut loose,
Broken, I knew I wouldn’t regret this.

Finally, I got release,
And it truly was a feeling a bliss.

Now your trying to talk again,
But I don’t understand why you don’t understand…
We ended after the second time,
So accept it, you’ll never be mine.

Poem: Guarded

Poem: Guarded 1208 1371 Nadir Keval

“I’m strong, I’m not falling,
I’m together, I’m not wanting.”
These are the words she said to me.
She had spent so much of her life,
Building up her image,
And becoming amongst the best.
Little did she know,
That through that time,
She built herself,
Out of who she really was.
What happened to the cute, innocent one?
What happened to the girl that knew how to love?
She’s been hiding behind this so-called woman,
Who thinks she’s better off without love.
She was hurt once, and called off
Every chance that came after that.
She thought that for her to be whole,
She had to make sure that love would never grow.
Putting up that front of stability,
She ended up losing the beauty of vulnerability.
Lost her ability to be real,
Cause now, she was no more than machinery.
Living life like it’s meant for proving herself,
But the sad part is, she’s trying so hard that she’s losing herself.
How can I get it across to her,
That she’s beautiful in her purity?
That, when she remains true to herself,
She in fact, reflects the essence of sublimity?
It is very clear that she knows this to be true,
But perhaps, her ambition has thrown her reality off queue.
And now, to me, it is clear…
That she will never be able to stay true to what she truly holds dear.

Poem: Lyrics to My Life

Poem: Lyrics to My Life 1280 1024 Nadir Keval

Sweet, strong and beautiful,

Are just a few things you are.

My dreams have come true,

‘cause you’re my shining star.

Everything ‘bout you is so real,

And you know exactly how to make me feel.

Everything ‘bout you makes me smile,

To the point I’m asking why.

What did I do to make God bless me,

By bringing your heart into my life?

What did I do to get these feelings?

Can’t be wrong, ‘cause they feel so right.

No matter what I do to try to let you go,

You’re always on my mind.

So, I’m gonna dance with the rhythm of my heartbeat,

And call you the love of my life.

Poem: No Question

Poem: No Question 1390 823 Nadir Keval

Is it strange for me to say,
that I forget how I got through the day,
before I met you?
Or maybe it’s wrong for me to tell you,
that hearing your voice makes me shiver…
the same way a smooth and cool breeze would?
Would you take offense,
if I told you your presence,
reminds me of a sweet flower’s fragrance?
And that I want to keep you close,
like I’m your bee, you’re my honey,
satisfying my teeth with your sweetness?
What if I told you that your eyes,
like Medusa’s, stop me in my tracks,
keep attracting me, leaving me mesmerized?
Tell me, would you turn away,
if I told you that it’s not just your beauty that makes me stay?
That, your words to me are like a melody,
like an orchestra of words at the peak of its symphony?
Or that your brilliance,
at times, makes me self-conscious,
thinking I must be dreaming,
to be thinking,
that it could be true,
that you love me, as much as I love you.
But wait, I forgot to ask,
’cause I hadta save this question for last.
Would you say we’re through,
If I told you that I love you?
No need to answer…’cause I already know,
from the wedding ring I gave you,
on the day that everyday seems like just a while ago,
that the answer to my every question here is no.

Poem: “If you love her…”

Poem: “If you love her…” 1024 768 Nadir Keval

Thought I’d see you again someday,
With everyone telling me,
“If you love her, let her go,
and if she comes back, then you’ll know…”
So, I spent every night since the day you left, praying,
Asking God to have mercy and bring me back my blessing.
As much as I believed it would happen,
In the depths of my heart, I knew that,
No matter what I did, you wouldn’t return,
and that no matter what I did,
I couldn’t keep this damned heart of mine from love.
I was confused, with no choice but living it through.
I wanted you, but wanted to hate you too.
It was the only way I could find to get over this,
And so, I fought hard and finally got over this.
Continued living, with no thought of you,
And suddenly you came back, and pushed through
the guard I’d built around myself,
Had me wanting to give you another chance.
After you put me through all that struggle and pain,
I couldn’t see any logical reason to let you stay.
But see, when love comes to trial,
The heart takes over and wins with flying colors.
But why is it that despite my heart’s battle,
You seem to still be blind to my love’s color?
I guess it’s just time to try again… ”If you love her…”

Poem: Unknown Lovers

Poem: Unknown Lovers 1024 768 Nadir Keval

It has come to be my fascination,
To see you amongst the twinkles of the sky.
Subtly brightening my life,
We fell out of darkness together
only to find love between us.
With the winds blowing through the skies,
Cooling us, as our hearts heat our souls.
Connecting spirits, everlasting,
Through the essence of all that transforms
the originality of two into the complexity of one.
We never chose for all of this to happen,
But who’s to complain when the feeling’s this exhilarating.
The expression of our love is as snowflakes,
As is each snowflake beautiful in its unique appearance,
Our every romantic experience is the same.
We listen to one another just as the birds hear the seasons change,
Knowing what is to come next between us,
Even if control of our future is out of our range.
We strive to conform to the changing of seasons,
As our hearts and minds grow from emotion to reason.
And yet still, we continue to love,
Because we learn that in our hearts God will place that trust.
The trust that brings together two people,
To knowing that through any sort of precipitation,
We will remain forever as loving strangers.
